Quobly, a Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS – simplified limited company) with capital of €152,172, registered on the Grenoble trade and companies register under the number B 921 773 792, whose registered office is located at 69 rue Félix Esclangon, 38000 Grenoble, France, is a company specialising in information technology research and development and in manufacturing semiconductors for quantum computers.

To support its operations, Quobly has a website, at quobly.io, via which Users can contact the company (hereafter the “Website”).

The Website has been designed for use by individuals, acting either in the course of their work or for their own private purposes (above and hereafter the “User” or “Users”).

Users may have cause to enter personal data, as this term is understood in the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR 2016/679, (hereafter “the Data”) by completing the fields on the Website, or as part of a request for information, or when making an application via the “Careers” page of the Website.

“User”, “Visitor”, “you” or “your” means any physical person who accesses the Website governed by this Data Protection Policy. “Quobly”, “we”, “us” or “our” means Quobly SAS.

At Quobly, the protection of your information and personal data is of the utmost importance to us.

We have therefore written this Data Protection Policy based on current laws, regulations and standards. It intends to provide all those concerned, and in particular you as the User, with clear, simple and comprehensive information about how Quobly, acting in its capacity as data controller, collects and uses your data, and about
the means available to you to control how it is used and exercise your rights in relation to it. It explains what personal data is processed by the Website, how it is processed, by whom and for what purposes.

This Data Protection Policy is therefore intended to apply to any person who uses or visits the Website.

The Website is hosted solely in OVH datacentres located in France.

The controller of your personal data is Quobly, a company registered on the Grenoble trade and companies register under the number B 921 773 792 whose registered office is located at 7 Parvis Louis Néel, 38000 Grenoble.

1. What personal data is collected ?

The personal data collected via the Website is as follows:

  • Contact details: when you use the Website to contact Quobly, data regarding your communications is retained, as are your family name, given name, email address and telephone number.
  • Professional details: as part of an application made via the Website, you may have cause to submit a CV and/or a covering letter containing your family name, given name, date of birth, gender, email address, postal address and telephone number.
  • Navigation data: information relating to the devices you used to access the Website, IP address, connection data, type of web browser and the content you accessed.
  • Information collected while using the Website: data about the information you searched for, etc.
  • Cookies: electronic identification data. Cookies are part of the way the Website operates. When you access the Website, you can choose whether to accept cookies.

When making a request, you are free to decide whether or not to complete the fields we provide. However, other than where they are marked as optional, if you do not complete them we will unfortunately be unable to process your request.

2. Use of personal data: why do we collect your data ?

Personal data is collected from Users for the purposes of contacting Quobly.
More precisely, it is used as follows:

  • to operate and optimise the Website: your data is used for analytical purposes; we store and evaluate information about your recent visits to our Website and how you browse it to understand how visitors use our Website, to make it more intuitive and to optimise the way it operates,
  • to verify, identify and authenticate the data you communicate,
  • to enable communications between Users and Quobly, either via a contact form or through a newsletter or information emails that we send,
  • to receive applications, so that our human resources department can manage its recruitment process,
  • to prevent and detect fraud, malware (malicious software) and manage security incidents,
  • to handle any disputes between the parties,
  • to carry out sales development.

3. How Users’ personal data is shared with Quobly’s subcontractors and third parties: who has access to your personal data ?

Your data is used exclusively by Quobly. It will only be divulged to the recipients below insofar as its transmission is indispensable to achieving the purposes listed in 2) above.

Your personal data may be shared with our subcontractors and with third parties in the following situations :

  • When you authorise a third-party application to access your data,
  • DansWithin the context of customer database hosting and maintenance services.
  • When Quobly engages service providers to provide assistance or hosting services, these service providers have limited access to the data, to enable them to provide these services, and they have a contractual obligation to use the data in compliance with the provisions of the applicable regulations governing the protection of personal data.
  • If the law so requires, Quobly may communicate data to comply with legal or regulatory requests, legal rulings, summonses, legal proceedings or within the context of administrative or law enforcement procedures.
  • If Quobly is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets or receivership process, it may have cause to sell or share all or part of its assets, including personal data. In such a situation, you will be informed before your personal data is transferred to a third party.

4. Retention period

In accordance with the law, your personal data will be retained only for the period required to fulfil the purposes mentioned above or to enable Quobly to comply with its legal obligations. Accordingly, if you apply for a role with Quobly, your data will be retained for 2 (two) years from the date you submit your application, and if you request contact with Quobly your data will be retained for 3 (three) yearsfrom our last contact with you.
Personal data used for sales development purposes may be retained for a maximum of 3 (three) years from the end of the commercial relationship.

5. Transfer of personal data abroad

At this point in time, we do not transfer any personal data outside the EU. The data processed is hosted in France or within the European Economic Area.

In all instances, we undertake to comply with the legal provisions regarding transferring personal data abroad: any transmission of personal data outside the European Union will be based on an adequacy decision, governed by the standard contractual data protection clauses or governed by ad hoc contractual clauses approved in advance by the CNIL (French data protection agency).

6. Security and confidentiality :

Quobly takes organisational, technical, software and physical cybersecurity precautions to protect personal data against alteration, destruction and unauthorised access. Nevertheless, it is important to remember that the internet is not a totally secure environment, that no technology is 100% reliable and that the Website cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted or stored online.

All our employees and service providers are bound by an obligation to keep your data safe and protected.

7. Exercising your rights

In application of the regulations on personal data, as a User you have the following rights :

  • You can request information regarding the use made by Quobly of your personal data.
  • You can update or delete data about you by writing to the following email address: contact@quobly.io
  • You can delete your account by writing to the following email address: contact@quobly.io
  • You can exercise your right of access in order to find out what data about you is held by writing to the following email address: contact@quobly.io. In this situation, before fulfilling your request we may ask you to provide proof of your identity so that we can check it.
  • If the personal data that we hold is incorrect, you can ask us to update the information by writing to the following email address: contact@quobly.io
  • As a User, you can ask for your personal data to be deleted, in accordance with the applicable data protection laws, by writing to the following email address: contact@quobly.io
  • You can also withdraw your consent to receiving direct marketing messages and object to the processing of your data.

8. Changes to our Data Protection Policy

We reserve the right to make any amendment to this Data Protection Policy at any time. If this Data Protection Policy is amended, we undertake to publish the new version on our Website. We will also inform Users of the amendment by electronic message, a reasonable amount of time before it takes effect. If you do not agree with the terms of the new version of the Data Protection Policy, you will be able to have your data deleted.
