On February 5th, Quobly marked an important milestone with the opening of its new office space at the BHT3, in Grenoble. More than just expanding into a new building, this move is about creating an environment that embodies the company’s identity and targets.
The genesis of the idea
After 2 years at the Yspot with the CEA, Quobly finally has its really own home at the BHT3. As the centerpiece of the brand new workspace, Quobly decided to incorporate a mural aiming to represent the company’s work and vision in an artistically meaningful way. “The idea of the mural came to us almost instantly”, says Maud Vinet, CEO of Quobly. “We wanted something that would not only represent us but also capture the creativity we bring to our daily work.” With this vision in mind, the company partnered with CEA’s Atelier Arts et Sciences and collaborated with Nesta, a street artist from Grenoble, to bring the mural to life.
A blend of art and science
The mural, much like Quobly itself, incorporates a variety of elements that reflect both the company’s work and its aspirations.
- The use of blue in the artwork is symbolic of low temperatures —a core aspect of quantum science.
- Additionally, the design incorporates wafers, which are the foundational components of quantum processors.
- The mural also includes cubes arranged in perspective, representing quantum computers: the ver purpose of Quobly.
- One key element in the mural is the inclusion of waves, which are integral to quantum mechanics. These waves are stylized to resemble muscles, with a double meaning. On one hand, it symbolizes the energy and effort that Quobly team invests into each project. On the other hand, they refer to the difficulties that the company may encounter. Just like levitating clouds, they are ephemeral.
- Moreover, dense vegetation, a signature element of Nesta’s artistic style, represents the rich ecosystem that supports Quobly’s approach and growth: the metropole of Grenoble, partners and collaborators.
- At the heart of the mural is a pink circle, representing a qubit—the fundamental unit of quantum computing. The circle serves as the focal point of the piece, highlighting Quobly’s determination and pragmatism.
- The beehive pattern in the middle reinforces the insight of collective intelligence and teamwork, the essence of Quobly’s operations.
A reflection of Quobly’s identity
For Quobly, the mural serves as more than just a decorative element in the office. It is a reflection of our core values and ambitions.
