Quobly aims to have a strong impact on society by providing cost-competitive universal quantum processors to solve currently intractable problems.
Founded in 2022, Quobly is a fast-growing start-up located in Grenoble’s vibrant and multidisciplinary ecosystem. The company relies on the CNRS Neel Institute and CEA-Leti and benefits from the dynamic of strong links between research and industry.
What awaits you every day at Quobly within the team:
Mission
As a vital member of the Quantum Measurement Team at Quobly, you will work on enabling high-fidelity quantum operations on our Quantum Processing Units (QPU) based on semiconductor spin qubits made using industrial FDSOI technology.
You will work collaboratively with other teams to:
- Automate and optimize manual experimental procedures by understanding and abstracting physical protocols into robust algorithms.
- Build and maintain a flexible automation pipeline to accelerate QPU tune-up and ensure stability at operating points.
- Standardize experimental codebase by developing modular, reusable experimental building blocks, and implementing comprehensive test coverage.
We place a high emphasis on fostering creativity, encouraging diverse perspectives, promoting collaborative efforts, and embracing both agile problem-solving and dependable, consistent performance. Being an early-stage team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape our roadmap and contribute significantly to our endeavors.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with and learn from talented people from many countries and backgrounds (software, hardware design, quantum physics, characterization, measurement, quantum information theory) in a culture of transparency and autonomy.
- Work hand in hand with members of our technical teams.
- Contribute to the success of the industrial collaborations with CEA, CNRS and STMicroelectronics.
You are special because you have:
- PhD in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong background in algorithm development, automation, and mathematical optimization of experimental or physical systems.
- Proficiency in Python and experience in object-oriented software design, version control (Git), and testing frameworks.
- Experience integrating with CI/CD pipelines and managing clean, maintainable codebases.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
If you’re missing some skills, think of applying anyway. We are convinced that your experience together with willingness and sense of adventure can make the difference.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with signal processing or image analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, optimal control, or other adaptive algorithms.
- Background in coherent quantum control, quantum measurements, or simulation of spins in solid state systems or other qubit systems.
Working at Quobly is also:
- A unique workplace, Grenoble, combining industrial dynamism, technological innovation and a unique natural and cultural living environment.
- The opportunity to continue to train, to develop skills by working with the best researchers in the field
- A collaborative work environment, a culture that has trust as its pillar and where your work will be recognized, and much more!
- Contribute to the influence of Quobly through the sharing of our progress in international conferences
- The possibility of having a pro-life balance with a standard day package of 213 days worked/year
- The possibility of teleworking up to 4 days a week depending on the position
- Offices near Grenoble train station
- Assistance with soft travel or public transport
