Quobly aims to have a strong impact on society by providing cost-effective universal quantum processors to solve currently unsolvable problems.
Founded in 2022, Quobly is a fast-growing start-up located in Grenoble’s vibrant and multidisciplinary ecosystem. The company relies on the CNRS Neel Institute and CEA-Leti and benefits from the dynamic of strong links between research and industry.
The quantum theory team at Quobly make uses of the tools of quantum information theory to simulate, benchmark Quobly’s quantum processing units, and to set the stage for the implementation of quantum algorithms in a fault-tolerant setting.
We seek for a senior scientist in quantum algorithms to contribute to the team’s effort, and interact with the experimental and technical teams at Quobly, as well as with academic/industrial partners.
What awaits you every day at Quobly:
Mission
- You will identify and proposed quantum algorithms that are best suited for Quobly’s quantum hardware.
- You will study the performances of these algorithms on our simulators, and propose improvements to such algorithms.
- You will work in synergy with the team members developing the simulation tools (state-vector & tensor-networks), and propose potential developments based on the algorithms of interest.
- You will work in synergy with the team members developing the quantum error correction stack, with an emphasis on the implementation of quantum algorithms (lattice surgery, optimization of T gates counts, etc)
Collaboration
- Collaborate with talented people inside the quantum theory team (architecture, large-scale simulations, benchmarking, quantum error-correction) and interact with the quantum hardware and software teams, in a culture of transparency and autonomy.
- Work hand in hand with members of our technical teams.
- Collaborate with academic/industrial partners to build a bridge between quantum algorithmic primitives and potential use-cases.
- Invite, organize seminars, workshops, training sessions, etc, on quantum algorithms.
You are special because:
- You own a PhD on quantum information and you have experience in quantum algorithms, in particular in (early-)fault tolerant quantum computing, the concepts of quantum linear algebra (block encodings, qubitization, …), quantum optimization, and quantum simulation/chemistry,
- You understand the mathematical concepts behind quantum algorithms, and you are also able to simulate small-scale instances on classical computers with various numerical techniques.
- You have the willingness to share your expertise and advance the field of quantum algorithms inside the quantum theory team but also within the entire Quobly environment.
Working at Quobly is also
- A unique workplace, Grenoble, combining industrial dynamism, technological innovation and a unique natural and cultural living environment.
- The opportunity to continue to train, to develop skills by rubbing shoulders with the best researchers in the field.
- A collaborative work environment, a culture that has trust as its pillar and where your work will be recognized, and much more!
- Contribute to the influence of Quobly through the sharing of our progress in international conferences
- The possibility of having a pro-life balance with a standard day package of 213 days worked/year
- The possibility of teleworking 4 days a week depending on the position
- Offices near Grenoble train station
- Assistance with soft travel or public transport
For us, quality work is based on professionalism, trust, surpassing oneself and collaboration in an environment where fun and celebration is as essential as it is natural.
