Machine vision software Engineer

Quobly aims to have a strong impact on society by providing cost-competitive universal quantum processors to solve currently intractable problems.

Founded in 2022, Quobly is a fast-growing start-up located in Grenoble’s vibrant and multidisciplinary ecosystem. The company relies on the CNRS Neel Institute and CEA-Leti and benefits from the dynamic of strong links between research and industry.

We are looking for a Machine vision Engineer to participate in the development of  tools for the characterization of our technology and ramp up/tuning/calibration of our devices.

What awaits you every day at Quobly within the team:

Mission

  • You will be responsible for the development of state of the art machine vision algorithms to extract keys metrics from 2D (intensity maps) measurements of our devices properties.
  • You will participate to the deployment of those algorithms so that they meet research (high volume of data) or product (performance/embedded deployment) constraints.
  • You will discuss with physicists to understand the physics behind the measurement to adapt images analysis algorithms to the measured phenomena.
  • You will maintain, update the algorithms to the evolutions of measurement conditions.
  • You will participate to the automation of our technology characterization flow and device automated calibration routines.
  • For measurement for which data collection sustains it, you will deploy machine learning/AI/CNN based approaches for key metrics extraction.
  • For all those subjects you will interact with a multidisciplinary team to understand their needs and develop the algorithms that address those needs.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with talented people in software, hardware design, quantum physics, measurement, silicon characterization, quantum theory, in a culture of transparency and autonomy.
  • Work hand in hand with members of our technical teams.

You are special because you have:

  • You have a Phd or master in image and signal processing.
  • You have at least five years of research or industrial experience in machine vision based image analysis ideally in a physics related field (semiconductors, material physics,…)
  • You are an experienced python or C++ developer.
  • OpenCV has no secrets for you.
  • You master at least one of the CNN framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch,…)
  • You have an experience in managing/organizing/processing high volumes of data.
  • You are well aware of the latest advancements in AI based image analysis & segmentation (Yolo,…)
  • You master collaborative software development practices and tools (git, continuous integration, unit testing, bug tracking,…)
  • You are customer oriented (whether they are internal or external), able to discuss/understand their needs and support them.

If you’re missing some skills, think of applying anyway. We are convinced that your experience together with willingness and sense of adventure can make the difference.

Working at Quobly is also:

  • A unique workplace, Grenoble, combining industrial dynamism, technological innovation and a unique natural and cultural living environment.
  • The opportunity to continue to train, to develop skills by working with the best researchers in the field
  • A collaborative work environment, a culture that has trust as its pillar and where your work will be recognized, and much more!
  • Contribute to the influence of Quobly through the sharing of our progress in international conferences
  • The possibility of having a pro-life balance with a standard day package of 213 days worked/year
  • The possibility of teleworking up to 4 days a week depending on the position
  • Offices near Grenoble train station
