Chief Strategy Officer François Perruchot credits inspiring and enthusiastic teachers with his decision to choose a career in science and technology.
A graduate degree in engineering and a PhD in solid state physics proved to be an ideal launchpad. Early in his career, François headed the sensor innovation team at Absys, developing new technologies for medical devices. At Tronics Microsystems, he coordinated MEMS microsensor modelling and characterization. He came to Quobly following an eighteen-year tenure at CEA-Leti that saw him thrive in roles spanning program management, business development, and strategic marketing.
His collaboration with Maud Vinet began at CEA-Leti starting in 2019, with the ambitious mission of developing a silicon-based quantum accelerator using spin qubits—a particularly stimulating pursuit that continues to satisfy his appetite for learning and understanding. A first-time founder, François is also excited about exploring uncharted territory in management and finance. He is pleased to see Quobly’s strong, united team grow, and finds motivation in supporting collective success by effectively guiding strategy and decision-making.
With Quobly, François is seizing upon a rare opportunity to put his belief in technology as a force for good to work. To François, the most compelling use case for the quantum computer will be in personalized medicine, especially cancer, where quantum-enabled AI could bring targeted treatment to more people faster and more affordably.
For now, he is embracing the complexity of building a quantum computer—a system of systems made of interacting hardware, software, and algorithms—knowledge he feels will be vital to his ongoing ability to guide the company’s strategy and make the decisions today that will be decisive to Quobly’s success years down the line.
