Financial controller

Founded in 2022, Quobly is a fast-growing start-up located in Grenoble’s vibrant and multidisciplinary ecosystem. The company relies on the CNRS Neel Institute and CEA-Leti and benefits from the dynamic of strong links between research and industry.

Quobly is a company undergoing rapid growth and to support this momentum, we are looking for a financial controller capable of combining strategic vision with an operational approach, to enhance the company’s overall performance.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a key role in implementing the financial tools, indicators and processes needed to effectively manage Quobly’s corporate, R&D and industrial activities.

Responsabilities

Structuring financial processes

  • You will be responsible for selecting the management tools required for financial monitoring and accounting interfaces.
  • You will carry out the initial configuration.
  • You will implement these tools and provide support to their users.

Leading structural projects

  • You will cost R&D and industrial projects by evaluating the main economic indicators (rates, work units, etc.).
  • You will implement cost price evaluation and cost estimates for financing projects.

Budget management

  • You will work with the finance, R&D and operations teams to develop, monitor and consolidate budgets, ensuring that commitments are met.
  • You will oversee monthly closings and report on the situation to managers.

Economic performance management

  • You will set up and monitor performance dashboards and KPIs.
  • You will analyse discrepancies between forecasts and actual results, identify areas for optimisation, raise alerts and propose corrective actions.
  • You will support senior management and managers in the economic management of projects (investments, costs, margins, ROI, subsidies, etc.).
  • You will ensure the traceability of financial data.
  • You will support decision-making through business plans, profitability studies and financing studies.
  • You will contribute to financial performance and financial responsibility within Quobly.

Required profile:

  • 5 years of higher education in business school or university, specialising in finance/management control, or significant experience.
  • 3 to 7 years’ experience in management control in a start-up environment, ideally preceded by experience in an audit firm or industrial group.
  •  Experience in process structuring and tool implementation
  • A good understanding of the requirements of R&D and the management of national and European funding projects.
  • A good level of accounting is required to liaise with chartered accountants
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, BI tools and management software
  • Professional English

Soft skills:

  • Rigour, taste for innovation, curiosity, attention to detail and agility
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people, teaching skills and desire to build in a rapidly expanding environment
