Quantum measurements and control in industrial FDSoI silicon spin qubit devices

Internship Context

This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the experimental and technological development of scalable silicon-based quantum computing. It will provide hands-on experience with quantum device measurements and control in an industrial context, preparing the candidate for a career in quantum technologies.

Possibility to pursue with a CIFRE PhD position after the internship.

What awaits you every day at Quobly:

Technical challenges

• You will develop and implement advanced measurement protocols for silicon spin qubits.
• You will study electron loading into isolated quantum dots on FDSoI devices.
• You will investigate controlled electron transfer between adjacent isolated dots.
• You will develop automated routines to reproducibly transfer a specified number of electrons between quantum dots.

This task involves low-temperature electrical measurements, data acquisition, and feedback automation to ensure repeatable dot occupancy control.

• You will optimize waveform generation for high-fidelity single-spin manipulation via Electron Spin Resonance (ESR).
• You will analyze the effect of spin manipulation protocols on measurement visibility and accuracy.

This part will require waveform design, experimental calibration, and analysis of the interplay between control and readout mechanisms in spin qubit systems.

You are special because

• You have strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• You have an academic background in condensed matter physics or quantum physics. (e.g., QED, quantum mechanics, solid-state physics)
• You have proficiency in Python, with experience in collaborative software development using Git and GitLab.
• You have knowledge of data analysis techniques, image processing and optimization algorithms.
